Staggering £110m of reserves being held by the County Council!

Despite continual pleas to consider the use of earmarked Reserves, a report to the next meeting of the County Council's Cabinet published by the Director of Resources shows that the Conservative Administration has now shamefully siphoned over £110m into the reserves whilst approving cuts to services and savings of £26.9m.

In glorious sunshine the special Jubilee Farmers Market Event on 26th May was formally opened with a short address from Nick Hollinghurst, Tring Town Mayor, in which he paid tribute not only to the successful startup of the Tring Farmers Market 12 years ago, but to the fact that it has not only continued to maintain the initial high standards down the years and but to expand and increase the variety of the goods on offer.

Holt crossing

Holt's new pedestrian crossing recently opened after taking nearly a month to construct. Although Wiltshire Council paid most of the £22,000 cost a significant proportion came from local fundraising. The crossing means that children getting to the village primary school will have a safer journey.

Wiltshire Core Strategy

Wiltshire Core Strategy approved by council

Wiltshire Council officers spent a couple of months analysing the one thousand seven hundred responses received from individuals and organisations during the consultation period which ended on April 2nd. They decided not to make any significant changes.
