Peter Carroll handing petitions in to 10 Downing Street with retired Gurkhas

Delight at Gurkha Success

Lib Dem Campaigner Peter Carroll has reacted with delight to the news that retired Gurkha soldiers are to be allowed to apply for British citizenship. Peter was a leading figure in the lengthy and high profile campaign that saw the issue reach the national press, national radio and TV, the floor of the House of Commons, the national Lib Dem conference at Bournemouth and 10 Downing Street.

Lively meeting highlights Rose Bowl issues

A packed public meeting at the Parish Centre heard of a large number of individual concerns over the traffic problems caused by large crowds at the Rose Bowl. In true cricketing fashion fielding the questions were the top two members of the Rose Bowl management team Nick Pike and Geoff Cox.

And Chelmsford Lib Dems were one of four constituency parties out of the whole country shortlisted for recruitment efforts.
