In announcement on 13th October, 2020 that has been made before, the Conservative Government has confirmed that an extra £17 million is to be invested to bring the Port of Southampton railfreight infrastructure up to European standards.
Herts Highways will be carrying out footway maintenance works along sections of the High Street, between its junctions with Victoria Road and Castle Street. This will involve the taking up the replacing the existing paving with a new type of paving slab. The paving slabs that are being replaced will be re/used along sections of the High Street, between its junctions with Prince Edward Street and Cowper Road to ensure the continuity of paving within existing High Street.

The Coalition Government brought in some well needed reforms to the delivery of public health programmes and the provision of public health services. Public Health is now the responsibility of the principal local authorities, like Hertfordshire County Council. Money was taken from the NHS budget and given to these local authorities to finance their activities.
In July 2018, Busselskabet Aarhus Sporveje, the public-transport provider in Aarhus, Jutland's largest town placed an order with Volvo for the supply, service and maintenance for four Volvo 7900 Electric buses. A year later in mid-August 2019 they entered traffic on the Aarhus Central Route 13 , covering 15 kilometres each way between the city centre and the suburb of Frydenlund. It is the very first time that all-electric buses operate in the city. Project Manager Gustav Friis stated, "This is a good first step towards a robust, emission-free mobility system in our town".
