Liberal Democrats on Surrey County Council were the only party at today's budget setting meeting to vote for a freeze in Council Tax for Surrey residents, and against the Conservative administration's 1.99% Council Tax increase.

Lib Dem call for cash to fix Essex footways and help young people rejected by Conservatives
A call was made today for more to be spent on fixing Essex roads and pavements and helping young people. At the Essex County Council budget meeting, the Lib Dem Opposition group proposed better services, funded from cutting wasteful spending and spare cash in the bank. This was rejected by the ruling Conservatives.
