In June we reported the sad death of Sheila Taylor, former Mill End resident and a councillor on Three Rivers District Council. We passed on the information that her family plan to have a special service in her memory at St Peters Church and a number of people have asked when this service will take place. The current rules limiting the opening of shops over a certain size to 6 hours between 10am and 6pm (apart from Easter Sunday and Christmas Day when it falls on a Sunday when they must remain closed all day) were established over 20 years ago. The Minister points out that the consumer environment has changed significantly and high streets face growing competition from online and mobile phone shopping.
