News from Rickmansworth Liberal Democrats - Three Rivers, a Lib Dem Run Council

Information from TfL about further night closures of Station Rd. There will be night closures from 25th-27th April, and 2nd - 5th May from 10.00pm to 5.00am. This to allow the final connection to be made from the new bridge deck to the old existing cable support systems. The team will dismantle the scaffolding system and completely open the footpaths (arch covered walkways). In addition the demolition and removal of the old bridge deck from Victoria Close will take place and the road surface reinstated. This work is due to be completed and road handed back by 9th May. Could this be a First? Recycling London Underground Trains.

Actually not. There's a well developed second-hand trade in refurbished or adapted locomotives and occasionally multiple unit sets. For example, in 1966 six 4-car sets and six 3-car sets of London Underground stock built in 1923 were converted for use on the Isle of Wight Line and again in 1989 nine 2-car sets of 1938 London Underground vintage stock was modified, refurbished and also put to use on the Isle of Wight.

Lib Dem Three Rivers District Council rises to the Covid Challenge

Local Chorleywood Lib Dem Councillors, Phil Williams, Raj Khiroya and Martin Trevett, are shown, masked and socially distanced - following the rules that help to protect us all. Phil, Raj, Martin and all their local councillor colleagues want to say a 'Big Thank You' to all NHS and key workers and volunteers during the Covid crisis. The crisis has highlighted Three Rivers' community spirit and the dedication of our local council staff and essential workers. As part of Operation Shield, Three Rivers Council set up a food hub with 11 staff in April, in partnership with Herts County Council.
