Anne Lee welcoming Denzil Coulson to the Liberal Democrats

FORMER LABOUR PARTY CHAIRMAN PLEDGES TO HELP WOKING LIBERAL DEMOCRATS

Denzil Coulson, a local teacher who lives in Goldsworth Park, has left the Labour Party, joined the Liberal Democrats and pledged to help their parliamentary spokesperson, Dr Anne Lee. He said "the deployment of the Blackwatch to Baghdad was the last straw, I opposed the war even before it began."

Three weeks left to get your vote!

If the General Election is called for 5th May, which is what all the commentators expect, only people on the electoral roll by 11 March will be able to vote. That means there is just three weeks left to register.

Tories - Opportunistic and divided over ID cards

Last Thursday the controversial plans for identity cards were debated again in the House of Commons, it was the report stage and third reading on the Government's Bill. The Liberal Democrats continued to oppose this costly and illiberal plan. The Tories decided to abstain at the third reading despite Michael Howard backing the scheme just six weeks ago. Our local MP, Eleanor Laing, voted in late 2004 to implement ID Cards.
