The Liberal Democrat councillors are urging residents to have their say on the Gypsy & Traveller Consultation. The consultation, which is asking opinions on five sites across Brentwood is open until 10th February 2010.

Residents Helped to Save Energy and Cut Costs thanks to Liberal Democrat 'Energy Monitor' Library Loans Initiative

Local residents are now able to borrow 'energy monitors' for free from the library to help them save energy and cut household bills, thanks to a Liberal Democrat initiative launched by Mayor Dave Hodgson. The idea was proposed by Dave Hodgson at a meeting of the Borough Council's Sustainability Committee before his election as Mayor. He launched the scheme at Bedford Central Library in October, and early indications are that the scheme is proving popular.

Fresh Lib Dem Commitment to Axing Student Tuition Fees

I'm writing to let you know some good news about the Liberal Democrat manifesto - good news for students and for everyone who wants a fairer Britain. This week the Party's federal policy committee agreed a way to deliver one of our most important policies, the scrapping of unfair tuition fees. We've developed a plan to phase out tuition fees over the course of the next six years, to ensure this vital policy is affordable even at this time of economic crisis.
