Cedar Tree Campaign Reveals Conservatives Lack of Grip on Council

A recent campaign to save a Cedar Tree in St Leonard's Road from being cut down by the Conservative Council revealed the extent to which the council Conservatives are failing in their duty to keep an eye on what is going on at the council. In an amazing admission on Facebook a local Conservative Councillor told members of the campaign that no Conservative councillor knew the Cedar Tree was being cut down.

Solihull's Liberal Democrat MP Lorely Burt has expressed her outrage that the previous Labour Government overpaid by nearly 900% on NHS treatment in private clinics across the West Midlands. The West Midlands region under the previous Government paid £14m to private sector operators to carry out operations.

Liberal Democrats opt in to the EU Human Trafficking Directive

Co-Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, Justice and Equality, Tom Brake said "The Government's intention to opt in to the EU's Human Trafficking directive is an excellent step forward for the UK and for the victims - past, present and future - of traffickers. The Liberal Democrats have been working very closely with the Home Office and the Home Secretary to secure the opt-in because we know UK can only continue to lead the fight against human trafficking by working closely with our neighbours."
