Renewed Efforts on Kingsley, Eversley & Holmside Places Front Lanes

Ouseburn Lib Dem councillors have been heading up efforts to get the front lanes on these streets resurfaced. Due to arcane legal arrangements made back in Victorian times, it is proving very hard to track down who is responsible for maintaining these lanes. Gareth Kane and Stephen Psallidas held a public meeting for residents in June to discuss the issues and exchange information.

ACTION AGAINST DOG FOULING

"We've been into the local schools, the children have designed posters which are displayed on all litter bins locally (dog dirt can go in the normal litter bins), we've caught a few people and fined them, but still it goes on" says Fawdon Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh.

GETTING TOUGH - TELECOMS MASTS HAVE TO GO

Everyone is getting sick and tired of the games being played by the telecoms companies over the mobile phone masts in our area. When Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) approached your local Fawden councillors about the future of Fawdon Park House, we asked for it to be demolished rather than refurbished because local people have long regarded it as an eyesore. YHN agreed, moved out the tenants and then started talking to the phone companies about relocating their masts. This has been a long drawn-out process.
