Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Friday 7th December) welcomed the Scottish Parliament's decision yesterday to endorse the establishment of a new Constitutional Commission.

Liberal Democrat MP and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming Tim Farron has welcomed the fine handed out to Asda and Sainsbury's in light of their guilty plea to price-fixing charges, but has said the fine was nowhere near sufficient.

Wolverhampton Council puts Spin before Swim
Wolverhampton's Labour-run Council claimed earlier this year to be too strapped for cash to save Compton Baths but seems able to spend over £2.5million on publicity. "Surely this is a case of putting spin before swim?" said Claire Darke, Compton Baths campaigner and Liberal Democrat candidate for Park Ward in next May's local elections.

Post Office Sham
The closure of 5 MORE post offices, now means that the Post Office has closed 15 throughout Shepway since 1999, including the Crown Post Office in Folkestone, which is due to close in March 2008.

Government hubris on housing could lead to misery for millions, says Cable
Liberal Democrat Acting Leader Vince Cable has warned that a house market crash is a real possibility and that the Government needs to act now to ensure that millions of people do not face the misery of negative equity and repossessions. This comes after figures show that the average UK household debt to disposable income ratio is up from 92% 1997 to 152% today.
