Denying climate change no longer acceptable

Denying climate change is no more acceptable than when tobacco companies denied the link between smoking and lung cancer said Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP. Addressing the Quoted Companies' Alliance (QCA) Mr Huhne said,"To their credit, a number of businesses that are heavily reliant on fossil fuels such as BP and Shell now recognise climate change realities. They are the good guys trying to green their activities. But others - notably ExxonMobil and General Motors - are still funding irresponsible public relations campaigns denying the science.

Threat to Ashford Eurostar service would be a blow to Folkestone - Bowles

Shepway MEP Sharon Bowles has written to Eurostar to press them to retain services from Ashford following the announcement that services from the station will be slashed. Eurostar have announced that the Ashford to Brussels service would be cut completely whilst the number of trains from Ashford to Paris will fall to three.

Chris Took has been reselected as Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Ashford Constituency. Chris fought the general election for the Liberal Democrats in 2005 and increased their vote by more than 1,000.
