MP welcomes announcement that major conference comes to Kendal

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed news that Action for Market Towns (AMT) has today announced that their 2012 National Convention will be held in Kendal. The event will attract hundreds of delegates to the two day event on 18th and 19th October, bringing an estimated £100,000 to the local economy.

Chelmsford needs jobs & local facilities not just houses

Chelmsford Council was taken to task this evening for failing to give a high enough priority to new community facilities, public open space and new jobs for residents. The Liberal Democrat group told the Council's Development Policy Committee that these issues should have been addressed in the Site Allocations Document, which was under debate.

Lib Dems welcome U-Turn on Chief Executive

The news that Brentwood will no longer be sharing joint Chief Executive Joanna Killian with Essex County Council has been welcomed by Lib Dem leader Cllr David Kendall and his colleagues on the Borough Council. The controversial County Partnership was supported by both Conservative and Labour councillors.
