Strike action by French fishermen has led to the implementation of Operation Stack on the M20 in Kent to ease jams caused by Dover-bound lorries. The Port of Dover to all ferry traffic after the ports of Calais, Dunkirk and Boulogne were blockaded, and there have been no sailings since 6am.

Rochdale MP Paul Rowen has signed up to a campaign to get Rugby League classified as a 'Class A' sport. He was reacting after Sport England's controversial banding (Class B) of the popular local sport. The banding affects the money going into the grass roots level sport though the Community Club Development Programme.

Workbase achieves this by providing an opportunity to learn new skills and gradually introduce a working lifestyle back to the client within a normal working environment with regular hours and pro-active employment.
