He has, however, to placate the angry Executive Member of Highways, Cllr Stuart Pile, now removed the name and contact details of the Head of Customer Services (which the officer himself published in the county's e-mail apology).
People who have to care for elderly relatives - often their own parents - in addition to the demands of work and family life are to receive training in care techniques and an entitlement to help, such as respite holidays. Councils will have to assess what support carers need. Everyone will be offered advice and guidance and means-tested financial assistance to pay for services will be available to those who qualify.
New guidance published will help teachers better identify mental health problems in young people. This means that fewer pupils will be wrongly labelled as trouble-makers.
Squashed Bollards - a vehicle has squashed the bollards on the pedestrian refuge in the Uxbridge Rd near the end of Moneyhill Rd. We have asked Herts Highways to repair the refuge quickly because without the bollards pedestrian feel vulnerable crossing this busy road.
Thursday 9th May saw the ground floor hall at the New Mill Baptist Church filled with a greater than usual number of people who had called in for lunch and the company of their friends. This particular day was the first anniversary of the setting up of a regular Thursday lunchtime café by the Minister, Mr Andrew Openshaw and his wife Kate. Called "Le Moulin" (the Mill), a name which combines a reference to the location as well as to their years working in Northern France, the café offers a variety of hot meals and snacks as well as excellent Fairtrade tea and coffee and delicious homemade cakes.
