Hythe Town Meeting: 24th April

The Hythe Annual Town Meeting will take place at The Town Hall, Hythe High Street, Hythe on Thursday the 24th April 2008 at 7.00pm. The meeting will hear reports from the Council, Kent County Council, Shepway District Council, the Association of Local Councils and voluntary organisations from Hythe, and to consider any resolutions for which notice has been given.

Who Speaks for Hythe West?

At the Hythe Town Council Meeting on 10 April NOT ONE Hythe West Councillor was present. Two of the councillors, Conservatives Linda and John Oliver, moved to Bath in December but continue to hang onto their seats, despite rarely attending meetings. The other two Conservative Councillors for the ward also gave their apologies for the meeting - meaning that there was NO representation for Hythe West at all.

A Fair Deal for Chelmsford

Chelmsford Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Stephen Robinson was out on the streets this weekend to highlight his campaign for a fair deal for Chelmsford residents. The 'fair deal' offered by Stephen and the Liberal Democrats include: abolish Council tax (which has DOUBLED in Essex under the Conservatives in the last ten years), and cut income tax by 4p per £ - for everyone.

Lib Dems present bus pass petition to Council

Moulsham Lodge residents have collected hundreds of signatures protesting against the scrapping of the 9am start for concessionary bus passes. Local councillor David Jones (seen pictured with Parliamentary candidate Stephen Robinson, local County Councillor Keith Francis & Lib Dem Borough Council Group Leader Mike Mackrory) handed in the petition at the Council Offices.

Mobility Scooter Ban

As you may have read in the local paper, some mobility scooters have been banned from the Linwood Centre and Southfields Drive Community Centre on Saffron Lane Housing Estate.
