Bees Still in Decline Due to Insecticide Use - as the UK Works Hard to Undermine EU Restrictions
Bees are crucial to the pollination of crops and to agricultural efficiency. However they are under threat from a number of chemicals - some in a quite unexpected manner. For example selective herbicides and fertilizer might not be expected to hurt bees at all. However spray drift from herbicides and fertilizer run off from the crop areas have led to field margins becoming dominated by a sparse vegetation composed of coarse grasses, nettles, docks and hogweed. Few flowering plants thrive here and bees have insufficient blossom to feed from.

News from Rickmansworth Liberal Democrats
Last Sunday evening, at about 7.00pm there was a dangerous situation on Scotsbridge Playing Fields as 5/6 horses and carts were driven around at considerable speed regardless of the risk to pedestrians, children and dogs. They rejected requests to behave more sensibly. This was reported to the police. If any one has witnessed a similar incident , either at Scotsbridge or elsewhere, please let us know. TRDC is going to install some low level fencing to minimise the opportunity for carts and horses to access the Scotsbridge Playing Fields. ……………………………………………………………….. Three Rivers District Councillor Sarah Nelmes Chosen to Fight Rickmansworth West in the HCC Elections.
Sarah Nelmes, who is currently one of the three serving Three Rivers District councillors for the Penn & Mill End Ward has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the new Rickmansworth West Division in the May 2017 elections for Hertfordshire County Council.
