YOUNG PEOPLE NEED NEVER BE BORED THIS SUMMER

The first ever, 'Wootton Summer Scheme', runs from the 2nd - 13th August, with a range of sport and craft activities are on offer each day. The programme's celebratory event will be held on Thursday 12th August, at Memorial Hall, Wootton - with the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, in attendance at 10.30am.

Developer Supports Heritage Tea Towel

A tea towel showing important images from Shortstown's past has been produced by the local Neighbourhood Watch. The towel has been funded by national developer Bellway Homes who are currently building the new Cardington development in the village and wanted to do something to help the community. Cllr Sarah Holland, Liberal Democrat, Eastcotts Ward, has been working with both the developer and the local community to make sure the benefits of the new development are felt by all in the village.

Councillor Sawyer seeks to ease difficult crossings for disabled residents

Councillor David Sawyer, Liberal Democrat De Parys Ward, is campaigning to improve the crossings in a number of streets throughout De Parys for disabled residents in the area. Three of the busiest junctions in the area are on Park Avenue as it meets St Augustine's Road, St Andrew's Road and Pemberley Avenue and they don't yet have dropped kerbs for people who have difficulty with mobility.
