£11 million Lib Dem Boost for Birmingham

The International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham will host the Liberal Democrats' annual party conference in 2011, it has been announced. The two-year deal, which will also see the ICC host the Spring conference in 2010, is expected to give an £11m boost to Birmingham's economy.

Lib Dems act as people let down by Labour

More and more St Peter's residents are turning to Zahid Shah, Robin Lawrence and the Liberal Democrats after being let down by their Labour Councillors. Zahid Shah said "Over the last few weeks the Liberal Democrat FOCUS Team have seen an increase in the number of local residents contacting us with concerns and issues that it would appear the Labour Councillors are ignoring."

Stop former school becoming a drug den - Zahid Shah

The former Farndale School in Gatis Street is totally insecure. Zahid Shah and Robin Lawrence found its gates removed, boarded up doors broken into, graffiti sprayed on walls and drug needles left around the area. On a visit to the site Zahid and Robin found a steel gate had been removed making the padlock on the main gate pointless. There was evidence of vandalism and drug taking.
