EU should act on homophobic human rights threats – Ludford
The European Parliament has called in a resolution for the European Commission to examine and challenge proposed legislation in Lithuania which would criminalise with fines the 'promotion' of homosexuality. MEPs have long followed developments in this Baltic country which joined the EU in 2004; it lags way behind in the narrow intolerance of its discourse on sexual orientation, despite having to implement EU anti-discrimination laws.

LGBT Liberal Democrats Social Evening, London, Saturday 29th January
The Liberal Democrats' LGBT wing will be holding a social evening in London on Saturday 29th January. Members, supporters and friends can join us from 8:30pm at the Kings Arms Pub, 23 Poland Street, Soho W1F 8QL. There will be a fundraising raffle at the social, with the top prize being a bottle of House of Lords champagne.

LGBT Lib Dems welcome Equal Marriage For All consultation
The LGBT Liberal Democrats today warmly welcomed the announcement by Lynne Featherstone, Liberal Democrat Home Office minister, that the government is consulting on equal marriage for all. Full marriage equality is an official policy of the Liberal Democrat party and an area which the LGBT group has long campaigned for.
