Lib Dems propose juice tax cuts

"VAT on fruit juice and smoothies should be cut from 17.5% to 5% to help encourage healthy diets, the Lib Dem Treasury Chancellor, Vince Cable, told the party's spring conference in Liverpool. The cut in duty would be paid for by a rise in tax on some alcoholic drinks. "Such a tax could raise an estimated £200m", he said.

Dundee Liberal Democrats back campaign to reduce excess packaging

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Sunday 9th March) backed calls made at the recent Scottish LibDem Conference in Aviemore for binding targets to be introduced to reduce excess packaging, and slammed the SNP Government which has cut £26 million out of the Strategic Waste Fund budget.

Dundee LibDems slam government's 'Faceless Britain'

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Saturday 8th March) given their support to a campaign launched by party leader Nick Clegg against 'Faceless Britain', the Labour Westminster Government's increasing reliance on remote call centres to provide essential services, many to the most vulnerable citizens.
