Letter to WMN & Gazette - Save Slapton line
Dear Editor,
Dear Editor,
Mike Treleaven, Totnes Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson, today condemned the decision by English Nature to withdraw support for continued repairs to the road at Slapton Line. English Nature, who have the final say in any work undertaken in the area, would like nature to take its course and for the road to eventually be washed away. Commenting on the decision Mike Treleaven said:
Following the success of our petition in Epsom High Street, our local campaigners took it to Stoneleigh Broadway last month. Again the response was magnificent. Even though not so busy as Epsom High Street, the vast majority of passers by were supportive and keen to sign.
Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, will be leading the Totnes delegation to The Liberal Democrat Spring Conference at Southport this weekend. During a packed couple of days the conference will debate many issues including Medically Assisted Dying, Council Tax, Tuition Fees, Censorship and Early Years Education. Commenting on the visit Mike Treleaven said:
Totnes Constituency Parliamentary Spokesperson joined Devon's Liberal Democrat M.Ps to hand in a petition to 'Scrap Council Tax' to Downing Street yesterday ( 16th. March). Over 1500 signatures collected throughout the Constituency over the last few months were added to thousands more from all over Devon.
Lib Dems on Bedford Borough Council have branded the new scheme which will turn the county's tidy tips into a permit only zone as rubbish.
