Student Funding: A Better Deal, But We Should Stick by our Promises

Liberal Democrat Councillors from Shepway including Lynne Beaumont, Val Loseby, Tim Prater, Bev Rolfe, Maggie Sheldrake, Season Prater and Darren Briddock have joined hundreds of Lib Dem members across the Country in signing an open letter to all Lib Dem MPs urging them to stick to the pledges made to students not to vote for an increase in Student Tuition Fees.

Folkestone Primary Academy - Winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Football Cup

Folkestone Academy Primary School were the winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Cup football tournament held on Wednesday 3rd November. The football competition held The Stadium, Church Road, Cheriton, is organised by Cheriton Councillor Dhan Gurung, funded by Folkestone Town Council and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Support who provide coaches and referees for the day. Teams from Folkestone Primary Academy, Stella Maris, Morehall, Harcourt, Cheriton and St Martins in Folkestone were all taking part.

Kent Primary School Applications Start 8 November

Is your child due to start school in September 2011? Parents can apply for primary school places between Monday 8 November 2010 and Saturday 15 January 2011. Thousands of families from Kent will submit applications for up to three schools of their choice.

Opposition to banqueting suite plans continues

A planning application for a huge banqueting suite on the land to the rear of Hilton Road, bordering Monmore Grange was made. The Springvale Focus Team and local residents sprang quickly into action. Cllr Mike Heap said, "We rapidly organised an information leaflet and petition to the neighbouring houses which people could bring to Hilton Hall. This attracted hundreds of signatures and individuals also wrote letters of objection."
