Folkestone Academy Primary School were the winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Cup football tournament held on Wednesday 3rd November. The football competition held The Stadium, Church Road, Cheriton, is organised by Cheriton Councillor Dhan Gurung, funded by Folkestone Town Council and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Support who provide coaches and referees for the day. Teams from Folkestone Primary Academy, Stella Maris, Morehall, Harcourt, Cheriton and St Martins in Folkestone were all taking part.

This attracted hundreds of signatures and individuals also wrote letters of objection."
