Liberal Democrat Rural Affairs spokesperson Tim Farron MP, has today said that young and first-time buyers in South Lakeland are in danger of being priced out of the market thanks to the huge increase in rural house prices under the Labour Government.

In an act of apparent insanity Wiltshire Council has shelled out taxpayers' money to strengthen the main beams of Station Road railway bridge in Westbury to allow it to carry 40 tonne lorries. However it won't pay for the crossbeams to be strengthened beyond 7.5t, so heavier lorries still won't be able to use the bridge.
