South Lakes MP Tim Farron has blasted NHS Lancashire decision makers following the news that the legal bid to stop the Vascular Services Review process has been rejected. There had been hopes that the appeal by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) would help keep vascular services at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Cllr Vicky Davies has called for a speed survey to be undertaken in Orchard lane, Pilgrims Hatch as residents live in fear of a serious accident. Cllr Davies said: "This once quiet lane is constantly being used as a rat run to the A128 Ongar Road. "Distressed residents have asked that measures are introduced to slow the traffic after losing several pets under the wheels of the cars. "I have asked Essex County Council to investigate what can be done to make the area safer."
