Good News - Liberal Democrat-run Three Rivers is one of the local authorities allocated money from the High Street Innovation Fund. Our share is £100,000. The aim is that local authorities, government, businesses and communities work together to promote new models of prosperous and diverse high streets and confidence in local high streets. Among approaches suggested are business rate discounts for new start-up businesses taking on empty properties and persuading landlords to support new occupiers, filling empty properties and increasing local choice for the local community. Three Rivers District Council is going to build a new play area in George Vth Playing Fields. Mill End residents of all ages have recently been consulted about what they would like to see there. Pupils in the local primary schools were asked for their views and to comment on possible equipment. Consultative sessions were held at William Penn Leisure Centre, the Children's Centre and at the Mill End Community Celebration Day. Over 330 people responded to the consultation which was an excellent result and the information will be very useful. Thank you to all those involved.
Road repairs are to take place on several stretches of the A4251 and the A4125 between 16 September 2013 and 16 March 2014. These will require road closures and waiting restrictions when the signs are in place.
