We will let you know the number if /when any application is submitted. ……………………………… The week before last, Rickmansworth Local Area TRDC Planning Officer Peter Simons explained that TRDC petitioned had Parliament about the issued raised by the HS2 proposals. TRDC has negotiated with the promoter (HS2 Ltd) for more clarity on the scheme and for positive commitments to improve the proposals for this area. Four issues have been deferred to a consortium of local authorities working together on the technical issues of sound, noise and vibration. We are concerned that the scheme would severely affect the local area because of pollution and traffic, and the very large construction compounds to be sited near West Hyde/Maple Cross. Electric Motoring. Lib Dem Councillor Finds Nissan Leaf Test Drive "Cool"
Well, the Nissan Leaf electric car demo at the Tring Eco Fair, held in April, seems to have caught the interest of one of the Lib Dem Hertfordshire County Councillors. Nick Hollinghurst, who represents the Tring & Villages Division, and his wife, Rosemarie Hollinghurst, finally got around to booking a test drive at Aylesbury Nissan in a Leaf Tekna.

Pioneering British Electric Car Hire Company bought up by Europcar Group
A majority stake in Hertfordshire's pioneering electric car hire company, E-Car Club, has been acquired by Europcar Lab, an innovation unit within Europcar Group. Founded originally in France in 1949 Europcar is now an international European company quoted on the London Stack Exchange in which hospitality group Accor and motor manufacturer Volkswagen are major stakeholders.
