Congleton Liberal Democrats fully endorse the demand for a fairer society, contained in the recently released Liberal Democrat national, pre-election manifesto, A Fresh Start for Britain. In the document, the Party publishes its main themes for the General Election.
Would-be, Liberal Democrat MP for Congleton Constituency, Dr Peter Hirst, is supporting Lib Dem Leader, Nick Clegg's call for more regional influence in business investment. Nick has asked Lib Dem Shadow Business Secretary, John Thurso to conduct a review into the viability of regional stock markets and the role they could play in Britain's economic recovery.
"It is clear that the Conservative Party, on present evidence, would be a disaster for this country if they became the Government after the General Election" says Dr Peter Hirst, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Congleton. "It is not enough to just say they should replace a jaded Labour government. They must come up with some sound policy proposals that help the hard-pressed people of Congleton, Alsager, Middlewich, Sandbach and our rural areas.
