The current winter gritting schedules were adopted by Cheshire County Council in 2005 after a number of milder than average winters. We are currently experiencing one of the harshest winters for many years.

Dr Peter Hirst, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Congleton is appalled at the recent news that the Tesco Distribution Depot on Pochin Way in Middlewich is to close in June. This will result in the loss of over 400 jobs.
