MP has harsh words for Health Secretary

Paul Rowen MP had harsh words for the way Health Secretary Alan Johnson wielded the axe on services at Rochdale Infirmary, Mr Rowen was speaking in a health debate in Parliament and spoke of the way that the decision was made. He said: "When the Prime Minister was appointed he talked about restoring trust in politics. I would like to talk about the process we went through because I have to say that if the way we were treated is an example, then I think he is even more cynical than his predecessor.

Details of the Post Office closures in Brentwood have just been announced. The post offices scheduled for closure are Hanging Hill Lane Post Office and Warley Hill Post Office.

Gas Explosion Closes Part of Sandgate's Radnor Cliff

Parts of Radnor Cliff, Sandgate, will remain cordoned off for at least the next 24 hours following an explosion and fire at Cliffe House the early hours of Wednesday morning. Residents who have had to leave their homes will be unable to return tonight and will not be allowed back until gas levels have dropped.
