In politics you get different types of people wanting to stand for Council. Some want to be Prime Minister; others spend much of their time in our beautiful Town Hall, whilst many got into politics simply to improve their area - that's where I fit in. I do my work on the streets of Castleton - walking the area whenever the weather permits which at present is not very often. This morning for instance on one of my trips round the Ward, I received 2 complaints that I have taken up - it's important to be accessible and I hope I am.

Graffiti-busters get blasting in West End
During a visit the village local MP Chris Huhne also saw how the Borough deals with graffiti, StreetCare Chargehand Jeff Smith demonstrating the high pressure cleaning system that is deployed when graffiti or 'tags' are reported to the Council's Direct Services Unit.

Liberal Democrats oppose changes to local people's rights to question nuclear power
Liberal Democrats at Suffolk County Council are putting a motion to Full Council on 7th December asking the County Council to oppose moves by the Government to restrict the right of local people to object to new nuclear power stations in Suffolk.
