National reporters probe Tory sleaze in Wolverhampton

How is it that Sandip Verma, the Conservative candidate in Wolverhampton South West in the 2005 general election, failed to win a seat in the House of Commons but in next to no time was given a title and seat in the House of Lords? That's the question the national news media want answered. The Sunday Times last week contacted the Liberal Democrat candidate Colin Ross for his views and on Sunday 1st October published a piece about a mysterious body called the Midlands Industrial Council.
