Unemployment figures released today have shown that unemployment has risen by 16% throughout Derbyshire between January and February and by 93%from February 2008.

Post Bank would help to save the Post Office
Commenting on the launch of a new coalition which is calling for a new Post Bank to be set up and run as part of the post office network, Liberal Democrat Small Business Spokesperson, Lorely Burt said "With the credit crunch causing a loss of confidence in both banks and bankers, the time has never been better to create a Post Bank."

Under pressure Coastguard chiefs offer jet skis as replacement for Arnside rescue boat
Coastguard chiefs have yielded to pressure to restore the Arnside Coastguard by offering jet skis as a temporary replacement for the Arnside rescue boat; however local MP Tim Farron remains unsatisfied and has described the decision as a "sticking plaster" solution.
