Liberal Democrat Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has announced details of a plan to raise an extra £1bn from a supplementary corporation tax charge applied to banks to help finish the job of eliminating the deficit.

The crisis has highlighted Three Rivers' community spirit and the dedication of our local council staff and essential workers. As part of Operation Shield, Three Rivers Council set up a food hub with 11 staff in April, in partnership with Herts County Council.
