Liberal Democrats Gain a County Council Seat in Hertfordshire in a By-Election in the Three Rivers Rural Division

The Three Rivers Rural Division resulted from boundary changes and an additional county division that was added in 2017 in response to Hertfordshire's growing population. In the 2017 county council elections, which were overshadowed by Theresa May's snap election call, the Conservative who held the former Chorleywood Division won the new division but with a majority of only 153 votes.

Tory Blues in South West Hertfordshire as their Members Refuse to Stand for Councils

The Watford Liberal Democrats say that Conservative members have given up on their troubled party. There are no Conservative candidates standing in certain areas of Watford - for the first time ever. There are no Conservative candidates in Stanborough Ward (Watford Borough) and in Abbots Langley, Gade Valley and Leavesden (Three Rivers). These are all wards that have historically elected Conservative councillors and together make up around a quarter of the Watford Parliamentary constituency - currently held by Richard Harrington MP.

HS2 Work to Disrupt Euston Rail Services

Observant passengers into Euston will already have noticed the demolition of a couple of sheds and depot on the west side of the station. Now it has been announced that Platforms 17 and 18 will be taken out of use after the May 2019 timetable changes.

Voters gave the Liberal Democrats Strong Support right across Hertfordshire on May 6th.

Liberal Democrats have gained five seats on Hertfordshire County Council. HCC now has 23 Liberal Democrat members, along with 46 Conservatives (down 5 seats), 7 Labour (down 2 seats), one Green and one Independent Conservative Leader of the Council lost his seat to a Liberal Democrat candidate St Albans is now under Liberal Democrat control Liberal Democrats have gained an extra seat on Three Rivers District Council Results for County Council elections within West Herts Local Party area.
