If you live in the Trowbridge area and are interested in education there are vacancies for governors at both primary and secondary school level. Being a governor is a rewarding and valuable way of helping your local community as a volunteer. Full training for the role would be provided.

Cheques saved
Wolverhampton Liberal Democrats have welcomed the decision by the Payments Council to reverse their 2009 proposals to abolish the use of cheques. No viable paper alternative was put forward to replace a payment system which is used mostly by charities and older members of the community.

Victory for open government in Essex following Hanningfield scandal
Essex County Council has backed a Lib Dem call to clean up the use of Council resources. This follows the setting up of police investigations into Lord Hanningfield's use of ECC credit cards. At today's meeting of the full Council, a Liberal Democrat motion was passed unanimously.
