UK airport used to fly bombs to Israel

Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary Michael Moore has written a letter to Margaret Beckett calling for an investigation following the confirmation that Britain has been used as a staging post for major shipments of bunker-busting bombs from America to Israel.

Play area with climbing frame removed

Safety Victory for Firs Lane Play Ground

Following pressure from local councillors, Shepway Council have removed an unsafe climbing frame from the Firs Lane play area in Cheriton. Councillor Peter Gane called the council to find why the gates were locked in July, to be told the equipment had failed County safety tests in APRIL.

Shepway Council fail in duty to play equipment

Three months ago, on 21 April, Kent County Council inspected and declared the play area between Firs Lane and Shaftesbury Avenue in Cheriton unsafe, due to broken protective flooring and an old and worn climbing frame. This information was then passed to Shepway Council, who have taken almost no action. Shepway are quick enough to publicise internal staff problems, but on an important safety issue, they've remained pretty much silent to press and local residents.

Dundee LibDems condemn "bomb flights"

Michael Charlton, Dundee Liberal Democrat local party secretary today (Friday 28th July) condemned the Labour Government for allowing US planes carrying bombs to Israel to refuel at Scottish airports.
