The dangerous crossroads at Fiddlers Hamlet is now safer, thanks to the efforts of resident Simon Pratt-Adams and local district and county councillor Janet Whitehouse. On the day Simon moved in, a car crashed into his garden- and it happened again last summer. Initially protective bollards were installed on the pavement by his house and the lines on the road repainted. Later enlarged signs, a new 'Bend' sign and reflector posts were provided. "I'm glad these safety measure are in place" said Janet "But it's still a dangerous junction and drivers need to drive with care".
Simon Davey, County Council Candidate for Congleton West has welcomed new government measures to protect consumers against the mis-selling of extended warranties for electrical goods - but added that there are still a great number of warranties on the market that represent little value for money to consumers.
