Local MP Tim Farron, speaking yesterday in the tourism debate on the floor of the Liberal Democrat Party Conference in Brighton, has highlighted the vital link between farming and tourism. Mr Farron said that landscape is the foundation of our tourism industry and it is therefore essential to protect farming given that that landscape is maintained and managed by our farmers.

Wolverhampton Liberal Democrats' successful Park Ward campaign has won the Albert Ingham Award at the Party's conference in Brighton. The Award is in recognition of campaign that saw Robin Lawrence elected in May.
Tesco has announced plans to extend it's store in Cheriton, Folkestone, and will will be launching an exhibition of the proposals in the store next month. The proposed expansion of the store would increase the current floor area from around 6,500 sq. metres with 401 car parking spaces to 10,200 sq. metres with 633 parking spaces.
Paul Rowen MP, in Brighton for the Liberal Democrat Conference, has told a Fringe Meeting of the Public and Commercial Services Union that, "The Government has failed the most vulnerable people over the last decade." Mr Rowen was speaking at the meeting called: 'The future of welfare delivery.'
