Ming Campbell is the New Leader of the Liberal Democrats

Ming Campbell has been elected the new Leader of the Liberal Democrats with 48% of the votes in the first round and 58% of the votes in the second round of voting, which saw him defeat closest rival, newcomer Chris Huhne. The overall electoral turnout was 72%.

Leicester Councillors Slam Misleading Statistics

Local Liberal Democrat Councillors have hit back at new statistics that imply that Nottingham has less crime then Leicester. Councillors say that the figures are misleading due to the report's classification of crime - which ranks swearing and urinating in public alongside assault and gun crime.
