UKIP in disarray at start of annual conference

UKIP starts its 2005 conference in chaos. Their Chair has resigned and their biggest financial backer has withdrawn his support. This follows a dismal performance in the recent Scottish by-elections where their share of the vote was a fraction of one percent.

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE ON DRINK DRIVERS!

Two Rochdale Parliamentarians have joined forces to call on the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police to keep up the pressure on drink drivers. Liberal Democrats - Paul Rowen MP and Rochdale Euro MP - Chris Davies are calling for an increase after new figures showed a significant reduction in breath tests in Greater Manchester.

Folkestone Central need a Local Councillor

In the forthcoming Folkestone Central by-election (13 October) to Shepway District Council, the Conservatives have selected a candidate who lives in Selsted, more than 5 miles from Folkestone. Local residents will have to choose between local Lib Dem Maureen Kincaid Speller, who lives in central Folkestone, and the Tory candidate from the village north of Densole.
