Suspicious Calls reported by Trading Standards

Kent Trading Standards have been alerted to call to elderly homeowners throughout East Kent asking if they were interested in security checks and offering free shredders or marker pens. The call then goes on to ask if there will be anyone else in the house when the trader calls.

Tom helps out with Small Claims forms

Morehall Councillor Tom McNeice has been helping a local resident with filling in the forms to make a claim in the Small Claims Court to enable her to reclaim an illegally held deposit on a motor vehicle. The forms are long and fairly complex and can be daunting to some people.

New charges but less parking: that's the situation at Folkestone West train station after Southeastern announced they are to introduce parking charges at the station. The cost will be £2 per day Monday to Friday (or £1.70 after 2pm).
