Chelmsford Council has unanimously backed the Liberal Democrats, who called for radiotherapy facilities to be provided at Broomfield Hospital. "At present patients from Chelmsford have to travel to Colchester or Southend for treatment which can have adverse effects. Treatment needs to be completed at their local hospital" said Cllr Freda Mountain.

Over the next few weeks we hope to add some content to our new site - please forgive the present lack of content. Local elections and the AV referendum are uppermost in our minds at the moment. We are hoping to elect a sufficiently large contingent of Liberal Democrat councillors to bring some much-needed democratic balance to East Devon and Mid Devon district councils.Certainly if we don't do it nobody else will. There are presently only two parties represented on both councils, plus a reasonable number of independents. That is a situation very likely to continue. We're also part of the alliance of groups campaigning for a Yes vote in the referendum. Why? To help end the jobs for life culture of arrogant MPs with safe seats, to make sure everyones vote counts, and to end the need for tactical voting.
