South Lakes MP Tim Farron has written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and to the Chief Secretary to the Treasury calling for assurances to be given to staff at the Northern Rock branch on Stricklandgate in Kendal.

More Money for Pavement Improvements
The Lib Dem council agreed £150,000 for road and pavement improvements in Fawdon Ward, and every other ward this year. "Let's hope that the new Labour Council commits to this money" said Cllr David Faulkner. "We're still clearing the maintenance backlog from the last time they ran the city." Let us know of any pavement stretches which need inspection.
