Cumbrian MP, Tim Farron, has today hailed Will Cockbain as it was announced last week that he is standing down from his position as Uplands spokesperson for the National Farmers Union (NFU) after 8 years to take up a position on the Board of Natural England.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron and County Councillor Clare Feeney-Johnson are backing a campaign led by local residents on Hunters Croft to get Kendal's 30 mile per hour (mph) zone extended to cover the junction of their road and the Shap Road.

For 12½ years Liz has worked tirelessly for the people of her huge constituency, and has shown how one dedicated woman can make a difference even at European level. Many will remember Liz's campaign on behalf of British beef, and her years of work for tougher laws to reduce the huge toll of needlestick injuries to medical staff. She has won a long battle to prevent MRI scanners in hospitals being banned through daft "safety" rules. Liz's latest campaign has been for a Europe-wide code of conduct to stop the abuse of elderly people in care homes.
